NextStage Evolution Research

March 2008: We got our first patent and are closing down for a bit to catch our breath and decide where we're going to go from here. Data collection for existing projects continues. Please feel free to contact NextStage if you see a project below that you'd like to take part in.

Dec 2007: NextStage Evolution's R&D has completed research on how human reproductive strategies non-consciously demonstrate themselves during website navigation. We're looking for some companies willing to engage in more specific research before we publish. Please contact NextStage if your company would like to help finalize this research or be a beta site for this report utility.

July 2007: NextStage Evolution's R&D has started to formalize it's research on Intender Status - knowing when someone will do something (as in knowing when they'll return to convert, offline and on). We're looking for some companies willing to engage in more specific research before we publish. Please contact NextStage if your company would like to help finalize this research or be a beta site for this report utility.

Nov 2006: NextStage Evolution's R&D has completed research on a Trust report. This report (based on Schooler and Schrieber's work on Experience, Meta-Conscioussness and Introspection) evaluates visitors' trust in the information with which they're interacting. It is useful in determining if visitors believe what's on a webpage is a truthful statement about a product or services ability to meet or exceed its promises. Please contact NextStage if your company would like to help finalize this research or be a beta site for this report utility.

July 2006: NextStage Evolution's R&D has completed research on a RiskTaker report. This report (based on McCelland Factors and determines the Merrilization Quotient) evaluates visitors' tendency towards risk or safety. It is useful in determining if visitors should be considered business partners, would take part in extreme vacations, tend towards "power/sport" cars, etc. Please contact NextStage if your company would like to help finalize this research or be a beta site for this report utility.

May 2006: NextStage Evolution's R&D is currently testing a "Success" report for blog and wiki analysis. These Success Reports determine the hierarchy of authorities in the contributors, which contributors are leaders, which are followers and when to anticipate change in a blog or wiki community. Please contact NextStage if your company would like to help finalize this research or be a beta site for this report utility.

Apr 2006: NextStage Evolution's R&D is currently testing a "Pages Viewed" report for web traffic analysis. Unlike reports which indicate a page was opened and perhaps a link clicked, NextStage's PagesViewed report accurately determines that a given page caught and held a visitor's attention, specifying how and why their attention was caught and held, regardless of any subsequent action. Please contact NextStage if your company would like to help finalize this research or be a beta site for this report utility.

Oct 2005: NextStage Evolution's R&D, continuing it's research into determining Prior Knowledge of website specific information, is currently developing the following reports:

PK Bookmarked
This report will indicate if visitors arrived at a given page via a bookmark.
PK AddressEntered
This report will indicate if visitors arrived at a given page by typing the page name into the browser address bar.
PK WoM
This report will indicate if visitors learned of a website via Word of Mouth (WoM).
Please contact NextStage if your company would like to help finalize this research or be a beta site for this report utility.

Feb 2005: Much of NextStage's Evolution Technology is based on our Language Engines. We're currently looking for partner and reseller companies who'd like to help us develop the following Language Engines

  • Central American Spanish
  • Brazilian Portuguese
  • Business Chinese
Please contact Susan Carrabis, Sr VP, R&D, if your company would like to help build one of these Language Engines.

Oct 2004: Work on Reading Virtual Minds has started and advance reviewers are excited by the insights into online marketing and the examples of ways to improve performance. Read sample chapters and order advance copies at The Hungry Peasant.

July 2004: Our ongoing research on how people communicate has turned up five more communication channels. We've been working on this for several months and had originally come up with six possible channels. Much thought and correspondence and some very heated discussions has caused us to decide on just five for now. More information on communications and channels can be found in our upcoming book, Reading Virtual Minds.

June 2004: We completed research on sub-modalities in communication and enabled our Language Engines to include their influence in our reports. Sub-modalities can be thought of as subtlety and nuance in how people express themselves, whether written, visual, oral, tactile, etc. What this means for our clients is more robust and accurate MCA, MPA, and WebAhead reports.

May 2004: We completed research on our 17-25yo Language Engine in May 2004. This is a very important language engine for ecommerce due to the spending habits of this age group. This research also allowed us to expand our language engine capabilities in general and to refine our M/F calculations to increase accuracy.
May 2004 also saw some refinements to our Business Language Engine. This language engine has already demonstrated its power in business and contract negotiations: "NextStage Evolution has repeatedly saved us time and money during contract negotiations and the interviewing process. It's ability to find hidden meanings in what people write has always helped us win the upper hand." - John Scullin, Director, Board of Health, Stoneham, MA
May 2004 also saw the completion of some highly informative reports:

Comprehension
The Comprehension Report is the cousin to the Understandability Report. Understandability determines which age groups are able to understand the material presented. Comprehension determines which age groups can discern the meaning and importance of the material presented and adapt it for other purposes.
Confidence
The Confidence Report determines if website visitors believe your site design will help them achieve their goal (make a purchase, get information, etc). This is different from the existing Expectation Report which measures whether or not site visitors expect your site to help them meet their goals. Confidence is a page by page measure of visitors' belief that your site will help them achieve their goals.
Satisfaction
The Satisfaction Report determines page by page visitor satisfaction with your site. If you want to know which pages aren't helping visitors, this is the report for you.
